Whenever The Lockout Ends, The Celtics Are Going To Have A Crowded Front Court

If you just think about it, the Celtics are going to have a crowded
front
court, when the lockout ends, requiring a few shakedown cruises along
the
way to sort things out. At center, there's Knight, DeClerq, and
Ellison,
and talk of signing a free agent big man such as Stewart or Geiger.
There's Garth Joseph who is playing on a exhibition team in the United
States,
and could be invited to camp, as well as the usual undrafted free
agents/European
pivot types who could also receive a camp invite.

At the forward position, you have Walker, McCarty, Pierce, Bowen, John
"Diet
Plate" Williams, and Popeye and Dontae Jones. If the C's do the
long-rumored
Miami deal, then they exacerbate the small forward situation with Pierce
and Mashburn clamoring for playing time. Perhaps, having Mashburn come
off
the bench as super sub to spell both Pierce and Mercer, will be the way
to go. Perhaps, Pierce will be dealt with one of the power forwards:
P.J., Popeye, or Williams for a quality big person.

Whatever happens, it will be interesting and frenetic, as things tend to
be
with Il Duce.
