Yeah, but there's a very significant difference between basketball and
football that makes the hard cap work for football. Most contracts aren't
guaranteed. So if you screw up, you can cut some guys and try again.
Basketball's guaranteed contracts mean that bad mistakes absolutely
hamstring you, especially under a hard cap where you may not even
subsequently be able to try to keep the good guys you have. A hard cap won't
stop the mega contracts, just polarize salaries even more.

As for the rest, there isn't a lot of hard info out there on what's going
on. Look for it to come out more once the playoffs are over.
