Pitino & centers

I think Walter McCarty was probably the best big man to play center
during Rick Pitino's years at the University of Kentucky. He was
the center in 1996 when Kentucky won the NCAA championship.

I also think that Nazr (Nah-ZEE) Mohammed 6' 10" junior center
at Kentucky is one of the best big men in the country. He leads
Kentucky in scoring 13.1 per game, rebounds 7.1 per game,
has 29 blocked shots and is also the leading shooter at 64.6 %.
Mohammed was recruited by Rick Pitino and currently plays
for Tubby Smith.

Nazr Mohammed if he continues to play and improve would
in my humble opinion be a good draft choice for the Boston Celtics
to play the center position.

At Kentucky, Rick Pitino was noted for producing speedy three
point players and not dominant low post players.

I am sorry for the duplicate, but I looked at the GS roster again, and
if
they would include Delk, and Smith would sign, then let's do it. (As if
I
had any say) When I noticed Delk on my second look at their roster, my
heart raced. I do believe, except at Center, this RP team can be based
on
UK players and succeed. By now we know RP is a strong judge of ability.

Roster:
PG - Delk
SG - Mercer
SF - AW
PF - McCarty
C - By commitee (for now)

BTW, who is the best UK center of the last few years? Have any made the

league? Also, I am not a UK fan per se, I just like the way RP will be
able to mold familiar players, and motivate them to success.

I can't believe I am recommending a mid-season trade, based on my posts
over the last 6 weeks, but oh well. Take me to task.
