Re: Pitino/Antoine

>I still have serious doubts about Pitino as an NBA coach.

You and me both. He is not teaching the players anything. Especially on
offense. If there was ever a need for an offensive coordinator in the NBA,
this is it. There is absolutely no low post threat. We are paying Travis
Knight millions to be a 7 foot guard. We have enough fr--n guards! You
would think they would at least be trying to develop him a low post game.
Same thing with Pervis. Stick them in the paint until they learn to develop
at least a threat of a low post game. Even Montross got the ball inside and
had to draw a defender.

And on defense, I am so sick of seeing dunks off of penetrations while our
"center" is out in three point land somewhere.

Cmon Rick!! There is more to NBA than press and get a steal or else give up
a dunk.

And there's more to NBA offense than give the ball to Walker. How about
some pick and roll two man game with Walker and the point guard? How about
a low post presence to rebound those crazy shots.

And as far as Walker being out of control, I would like to see him settle
down and become a Barkley or Malone. A prototype power forward, who knows
what he can do very well, and knows he can't do everything. they need to
mold these guys, not just let them go crazy.

Travis or Declerq should be in the low post, Walker in the high post where
he can take most fowards to the hole, and Mercer coming off a screen like
Kevin Gamble or Reggie Lewis.

Pitino needed Anderson, because Anderson knows how to run a pro offense.
Billups and Pitino do not.
