Do you honestly think that the Cs didn't try to move up in that draft?

The fact is that no one (repeat: NO ONE) could pry Duncan away from the
Spurs. What could the Cs have possibly offered to get that pick? We could
have offered both of our picks, our entire team, and our picks for the next
3 years and they STILL wouldn't trade away the #1. Give me a break.

(And getting Van Horn would have been pretty damn tough too. What,
exactly, would you have offered to get that pick?)

Billups didn't turn out to be an overnight sensation. I'm upset about that
and I wish that we had more time to spend on a project player, but it isn't
Pitino's fault that we got the #3 pick instead of #1 or #2. Still, he took
that pick and used it to get rid of Dee Brown (a miracle if I've ever seen
one), get a solid PG in Anderson, and give us some cap flexibility for FAs
this summer. Not too shabby.
