the trade

I have stayed out of the pro and con Chauncey camps for the most part. I
think he will be a good NBA player, either as a 2 gaurd, or as a point guard
on a half court style team. Neither of these are what Pitino was looking for.

One thing that has not been touched on, that I think is an important part of
this trade: Pitino WAS going to be in the position of trying to sign
Walker, Mercer, and Billups to long term contracts in the near future, and I
think he decided they would not or could not do it. So he let the one go
that he could replace with a quality player already tied up in a long term
contract. Now he has more money to sign Walker and Mercer.

Lets give this trade some breathing room. It has some real potential.
