IN RESPONSE TO ANTOINE COMMERCIAL AND RACE...

     Josh,
you do have your point that some commercials are aimed towards
certain races but by saying that sneaker commercials are mainly geared
towards black people is wrong. How many non-black kids do you see use
hip hop jargon and wear urban clothing (saggy pants, Tommy Hilfigers,
etc.) nowadays? Plenty if you look around and a good number of those
non-black kids are from rich white suburbia. Those basketball
commercials are carefully researched to attract the overall populace.
Are you saying that because Antoine's latest commercials do not use
hip hop jargon that black people will not understand nor be interested
by Adidas? Are black people's vocabulary limited to only hip hop
jargon and ebonics? Also Adidas basketball shoes are generally less
expensive than Nike, so that's not really logical for Adidas to
attract rich "white" folk in buying their shoes. Race is a touchy
subject and even if you don't mean much by it, please carefully
consider what you say before you post it.
