Re: free agents

i have heard that the celtics have been looking extremely hard at matt
geiger of the hornets and at theo ratliff of the sixers. my opinion is
that geiger would be the better catch since he has more height and weight
than ratliff and will be able to better defend down low. from what i have
seen of ratliff, he is too scrawny to match up with the true centers in
the league. he has alot of athletiscm but he just gets pot muscled by the
bigger men in the nba. both of these players are limited offensively but
that is not a major concern with mercer, walker, and anderson on the team.
if they do sign geiger and he provides 12 points and 10 boards a game and
does well on defense, the cetics will jump their win total by 10 games. as
far as kurt thomas goes, i have read that he has a chronically bad ankle
that he keeps refracturing after 4 or 5 surguries. i think his career is
basically over, but if he did come back healthy, he would be a good
addition at the right price. anyone have any thoughts about a scoring
small forward that the celtics would be able to get their hands on? they
had two, rick fox and eric williams, that they basically got two 2nd round
draft picks for. fox has given some indication he might leave the lakers
if jerry west goes, any chance of him coming back to boston?
