Dorine you are right on the money. I saw the same report and your take is
accurate.
Given the state of big money contracts for star players the report mirrors
the truth.
If we don't sign Walker for the big bucks we would have to replace him with
another marquee player to stay on track in the rebuilding process. How
would we do this with our lack of flexibility with the salary cap? We are
probably better off giving him the Benjamins than taking a huge leap
backwards. Too bad it's always about the money.
That's the sorry measuring stick in sports these days; who makes more money
than the next guy.
