Actually, I think Mishra's right. I remember a lot of US salivating
over Outlaw last year, but all I saw in the papers was that the Celtics
were pursuing both Strong and Massenburg.

Don't get me wrong, everyone. I like McDyess. I'm just not sure that
he and Walker would generate positive chemistry -- it could end up like
a Webber/Howard type situation with two extremely highly paid players
doing the same sorts of things on the court and no cap room to add
complementary puzzle pieces.

Assuming Anderson can stay healthy, I think the C's are set
offensively with Walker, Mercer and Barros providing serious offensive
punch. The obvious crying needs are interior defense and rebounding.
While McDyess could provide those things, I'm much more enthused about
adding Outlaw or Ratliff through free agency and possibly Traylor
through the draft (I'm concerned that Doleac is too soft). Assuming the
C's then jettison Knight and keep DeClerq, that gives Pitino tremendous
versatility and energy on the front line. Of course, if I thought
Jayson Williams could be had, I'd forget about all of those guys in a
millisecond.

Now that "my man" Olowokandi looks like a top 5 pick, I'm getting more
intrigued by two other players: Keon Clark and Jeelani McCoy. What is
the deal with these guys? I haven't seen Clark play -- why was he
projected in preseason as the 2nd best player coming out this year and,
more importantly, why has he slipped? As for McCoy, whom I have seen
play, why isn't there more buzz about him? He can't seriously be
thinking about playing another year of NCAA ball when he doesn't even
have a school, can he?

Happy holidays, everybody.
