Mercer et al

My point of view on the Mercer/Anderson discussion is that Mercer has
the most upside for the pro game.  He has about three inches, is a great
leaper and has phenomenal quickness/speed.  Anderson would have to
elevate his better all-around skills considerably to make the same impact
as I expect Mercer will make.  Still, it's just a biased opinion.

I wish Denver well.  I heard the Timberwolves owner justifying the
Garnett money.  People with that much money can justify anything.  My
biggest objection is that it hurts the team aspect of the game.  If Antoine
Walker has another good year and wants such a contract, I would trade
him quickly (and carefully) and push the team aspect.  While I recognize
the need for "stars," there are just as many stars who keep their team
from succeeding as those who are the catalyst for victory.  I like having
a coach with the will to lead in recovering the team aspect.
