Bird?

I just recently joined this service.  I've heard rumors about Bird 
coming back to the Celtics in some capacity since around the all-star 
break BUT I don't have a clear picture of what role they're expecting.

I get the sense that it would be general manager - with DJ as coach.  An 
earlier post said they didn't have the experience.  But they know the 
game and they know the Celtics and Boston traditions.  No outsider can 
just walk into all of that.  And McHale seems to be doing a strong job
at Minnesota and Cowens at Charlotte what's to say that former Celtics 
players, especially ones whose skills were highly on the mental side of 
the game can't pull it off.  The conservatives would never have expected 
Bird to stead the Thomas pass or DJ to finish.
