the case for Sura
I have touted Sura for three years. He is an all around player with good
size, excellent speed and defensive quickness, great leaping ability and
exceptional passing for a two guard. He still needs to develop as a
shooter, but his entire game has stepped up nicely this year. I think what
we take for inconsistency is related to poor playing time. Maybe Phills is
that much better, but Sura gets very inconsistent minutes and that makes
for inconsistency; plus, he plays on a slow down team. Put him with an
up tempo squad and he would be one of the better young two guards.
Still, I don't think he will be available unless Cleveland completely blows it
next year when his contract is up.
Gene
And, while I'm at it, I sure like Mercer. He's a Stackhouse type two
guard with a little bit better shot. And I could not believe that the Celtic's
scouts think so highly of Van Horn. I must be missing something.
Tuesday night La. Tech plays for the Sun Belt championship (I think) and
a return to the field of 64. Let it be. ("Oh, Tech thy halls so beautiful")
