smokescreen?

i don't know rick pitino and his ways all that much... or at least his 
nba ways from new york... but is it possible that everything he is 
saying is all just a smokescreen so that he can take the guys he hasn't 
mentioned?  let's say daniels and thomas?  or he has something worked out 
that he is going to draft for another team and then package something 
together?  i'm not saying this is the case... but rick doesn't seem 
stupid and although i don't consider him slick and deceptive i do think 
that he is cunning... just a thought.
