Mishra I don't think committing $4M per year to Brian Grant is in
our best interest right now. I would rather sign Derek Strong to
something smaller. He seems to be the perfect role player for this team.
What do you think?

As far as Dino goes, I'm all for Gaston getting involved to make
sure that this Greek transfer is in the best interest of the team. If
nothing else he is a very good business man. Compare him to the ownership
of the Washington team-formerly-known-as-the-Bullets. Last year Juan
Howard left them to sign a $100M contract with the Heat. By the time the
league voided the deal, every team had used up just about all of their cap
space on other free agents. Yet Washington management not only welcomes
him back with open arms but they match the defunct $100M offer. Juan
Howard is a good player but he's not that last piece of the puzzle for a
championship team. If I were them I would have offered him at MOST $50M
over seven years (and that's without the foresight of this past season).

Thanks to Tone and Adam for great reports from the rookie/free
agent camp. Don't apologize for their lengths, everyone on the list had
been waiting for some in depth reporting on the happenings at Brandeis.
I'm a little concerned about the observation that Mercer and Billups are
shorter than Minor and Brown. I'm guessing that since Billups was injured
maybe he wasn't wearing his high tops. And I don't know if it's good or
bad that Minor was silencing Mercer in the second half. Maybe Minor is an
important piece of the puzzle after all. (GO M.L.!!!)
