LOS ANGELES (Feb 11, 1997 - 23:12 EST) -- Boston forward Eric Williams
was sent home by
the Celtics on Tuesday after experiencing dizziness during a practice.

In October, Williams underwent tests for a possible heart ailment after
a routine team physical revealed a cardiac abnormality. It was later
determined that a bad case of the flu had caused the test to indicate a
possible heart problem.

Still, the Celtics aren't taking any chances this time.

"He got a little light-headed last night at practice," Boston coach M.L.
Carr said. "Obviously you are concerned. But it's a precautionary move
because of what happened last fall."

Team spokesman David Zuccaro said Williams would be examined Thursday by
team physicians at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. He'll miss
both Tuesday night's game against the Los Angeles Clippers and
Wednesday's at Phoenix.

Williams, the 14th pick of the 1995 draft out of Providence, is
averaging 13.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per game this season.
