``Chauncey played great. He pushed the ball up the court and got us in the
offense early,'' Walker said. ``Chauncey had a great week of practice. He
deserved to start. He's playing well. We understand him more. He's a
scoring point guard. We got to live and die with him. We picked him third.
Coach stayed with him tonight, and that gives him confidence.''

Said Pitino: ``The last week I've been extremely encouraged by Chauncey
because he's showed a completely different side in practice. He suddenly
realized that yes, it is a big mistake for me to leave my feet, and it's not
coach messing with my game. He's starting to really mature.''

``It feels good to feel part of it again,'' Billups said. Leaving his feet,
he said, ``is a bad habit that I've had since high school that's been really
hard to break. I think it's great that coach Pitino tells me my weaknesses
and that he tells me to work on them every day in practice.''

It sounds like Pitino is implying that previously, Billups hasn't been very
receptive to his coaching and criticism ("it's not coach messing with my game")
which may be why Pitino said he was discouraged in previous weeks. But if
Chauncey is coming around and listening to Pitino, that's good news indeed.
