Pepper continues to improve

Just a quick note on the continued improvement and growing confidence of
potential Celtic big man Ben Pepper. Since the Australian Under/23 world
championship win, he has been posting numbers and really attacking the rim.
Last night he had 11 points and a bunch of boards (splitting time with
another centre ex-Utah college player Ben Melmeth). His highlight was
running the right wing, keeping pace with the guards, to finish the
transition play with an ally-oop two hander jam jumping on the full run from
just inside the paint on the right block.

Not bad mobility for a seven footer...

The Boomers tour that he will be a part of will start in November and will
include games against Kentucky and Perdue.

"The most important thing is the desire to get the ball, then to anticipate
where the rebound is going," Davis says. "And if you can get up off the
floor quicker than your opponent, it doesn't really matter how high you
jump, it's that you get there first and establish yourself in position."
