Pitino, Bird & ML ???

So if it is so public that Bird did talk to Pitino on Gaston's 
behalf, why are the reporter's not asking Gaston if he did
give Larry Bird permission to start looking for a new coach ?
Peter May says that Larry was unavailable to return calls...what
about Gaston ? 

And does this mean that ML is done in Boston as a coach ? ML is
a nice and enthusiastic man...but we need a good coach to teach 
Walker, Williams & 2 or 3 more high picks from this year. What
do all of you think will be the second choice as coach.......
DJ or ???? or who else ? Has there been any mention of the
Univ. of Cincy coach (Higgins??) ?
