Came home from a long ride today, put on some Guided by Voices, poured
myself a glass of wine, and sat down to check my e-mail. Found this:

OK...I give up. I'm wrong. ML Carr is a screaming idiot. You couldn't find
a bigger moron on the planet. Dee Brown?...yup, Carr put the gun to
Gavitt's head and told him to offer Dee Brown all that money for all those
years..."or else." Gavitt of course said..."Yes Mr. Carr...anything you
say." So yes...I admit it...even though ML Carr was in Public Relations at
the time, he's the one responsible for Dee Brown's contract. OK?...happy?
Now on to Wesley, Williams and Walker. Listen..all of you who think those
three can play,...are getting better...could develop into good NBA
players..I want you all to know that ML Carr had nothing to do with picking
those guys. Wesley? Like him? Think he'd bring something in a trade? Think
that Jerry West would rather have him at point instead of Van Exel? All of
you listen, ML Carr had nothing to do with with Wesley being on the team. I
know you think he did...but he didn't. So wake up. Walker? He didn't want
him. Williams? Larry wanted him so he drugged ML, hustled him out of the
room and made the pick himself. Thank God Larry was there. He was...wasn't
he? Hey...he was there in spirit and don't any of you forget it.
So..OK...ML has done nothing but make that Montross trade and to be frank,
it was probably Larry with the gun to ML's head...or perhaps it was Larry
disguising his voice. So I'm giving up. And to be frank, if any of you care
about ML's psychological and spiritual well being you'd better hope Gaston
replaces him with Bird and Pitino. The fans in Boston would crucify ML if
Opie (forgive me father for I have sinned) ever left town. Now that Larry's
spoken, the waters better part. If they don't, the towel waving idiot pays.
I'm convinced, ML's a total incompetent. I don't care what he does. OK? I'm
done with this defending ML crap. Oh...one more thing for all of you to
remember. If the Celtics get Duncan, you can thank Larry. It was Larry,
disguised as ML, coaching the team all year. Thank God Larry was there.
