Yeah. A good diary though.  He was able to express some of his frustration 
and make clear that he wasn't just pissing on John's grave.  He had valid points 
in his interview no matter how they came across in print.  He knows the 
lifestyle.

To quote John about Pete during his time off the wagon: "You play you pay".

It was interesting to see the puzzled look in Dugal Butler's eyes as he 
talked of John last October in NY. Remember what he said, Alan? I'll paraphrase a 
bit.  Rock stars usually follow the pattern of getting successful, getting 
hooked on drinking/drugs and then drying out and coming back clean.  John's 
pattern was the exact opposite.  He always controlled his excesses earlier when the 
others didn't. Then at the end of his career he went off on the stuff and 
died.  He looked very frustrated. And this is from a person that had to take care 
of Keith Moon!
