Problem with this is that the masses aren't going to reserve judgment.  It's fair to say that Who fans will listen with an open mind, or at least a mind giving Pete the benefit of the doubt.  But the public will not, leaving his most loyal fans to suffer ridicule on his behalf.  It simply isn't prudent in any sense.  He should never change the art he creates, but the titles are easily altered without altering the substance of the art.  After all, the original name of Tommy was "Deaf, Dumb, and Blind Boy," and it was changed for practical reasons.  Aren't we now glad it was changed?  It probably had a profound effect on the success of the album.

I just don't think it is too much to ask that Pete and Roger consider the fans and what effect these things will have on us in the wake of the ped controversy.
