Actually, Pete claims to have "vague memories" of being abused by his 
grandmother.  Brought out, I'm sure, by a sympathetic psychiatrist & a
few leading questions.  You know.....the kind of malarkey that gets thrown
out of courts all the time now.  "Recovered memories."  Yeah, sure....

mind.  And the wrong he *does* engage in is simply him fighting those
horrible demons of his.  And the horrible demons are caused by the Devil.
Ultimately, no one is responsible for his or her own actions.  We're all
just caught up in the battle between Good & Evil.  How comforting to not 
have to take responsibility.

Kevin, don't you get it?  It's OK to sin with good intention!  That's ad-
mirable!  Fighting the demons.  Fighting the Devil.  How do you expect
Pete to fight against child pornography without paying to look at a child
porn site?  Remember his courageous campaign against heroin in the late
'70s & early '80s?  Same thing.  That's not a sign of weakness!  Jesus.....
uh, I mean Pete.....is a fighter.  A crusader!  And because of that, the
Devil is out to get him.  (Odd that the Devil never picks on Sting.)

It was stupid & wrong.  And it was against everything he claimed to be
fighting.  It was an embarrassment to his image & to The Who's legacy.
