New Who Biographical CD

There's a new Who biographical CD in stores. It's called MAXIMUM WHO:
THE UNAUTHORIZED BIOGRAPHY OF THE WHO. This seems to be part of a
series in which other bands are covered, as well.

One disc, it's on the Chrome Dreams label out of England. It's pack-
aged nicely with a slip-case, small booklet, & a "mini-poster" (The
WHO backstage in the 70's doing a chorus line kick).

OK, first off, this CD contains absolutely *zero* Who music. It's
mostly narration (girl with British accent - which makes the whole
thing more palatable) with an annoying, constant, generic piece of
background studio music which plays over & over & over & over.....

The saving grace of this release is that it *does* contain some rare,
audio, Who interview snippets, even if they are brief & sometimes hissy
or garbled.

The spoken word biography is, for the most part, accurate, but there
are a few errors here & there. It sticks mostly to the facts & known
history, & doesn't get opinionated until the very end where some dis-
paraging comments are made about the band having a somewhat tarnished
legacy (truth hurts).

Here are the chapters/tracks:

1. Introduction
2. Who's Who
3. Under New Management
4. Pop-Art Breakthrough
5. Legal Matters
6. All Sold Out
7. From Pop Idols To Rock Gods
8. Madness In The Lifehouse
9. Before The Fall
10. The End Of An Era
11. Lost
12. The Mysterious Death Of The OX

I don't know why they titled that last segment the way they did. They
don't put a conspiracy-slant on OX's death, or anything like that.

Total running time is a little over 60 minutes. This release is for com-
pleteists only, I'd say. Bit of a novelty CD.
