Of course not.  This was the beginnings of The Who.  They'd had one big 
success, but no one had any idea that they could repeat it, or that they'd 
have the longevity to get them all the way to 2003.  As John said, they 
thought it would last a couple or three years, and it wasn't until the 
recording company had picked up their option a couple of times that they 
started to get the idea it might last a bit longer.
