Supporting our troops (no politics) & copyrighted music

>No matter how anyone feels about our President, we MUST support the troops!

Jo:

Supporting the armed forces is without debate from anyone I've seen, from either side of the issue. But there are those who equate not supporting a leader with not supporting the country or hating the country or being a traitor, which is erroneous and monolithic thinking (read: any given right wing talk show host) and discredits their entire perspective. For them I can only quote this fine Republican:

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."

-- Theodore Roosevelt, 1918

Sometimes, you know, being against a leader whose policies have made things extremely dangerous and worse on every level for the citizens is not anti-American but PRO-American.

>But, I have to say that his "tards on the list" comment is what got my blood
stirring in the first place. Thanks Kev... :)

I read that as levity, not an insult. Perhaps when reading these posts a little perspective is in order. Consider that no one here (as far as I know) is here merely to insult.

>You are entirely wrong, Mark

Mc:

Actually, NO I'm NOT wrong in the least.

>grant permission. What about music played at bars, dance clubs, parties, sporting

Royalties are paid for this. To ASCAP or BMI. Even restuarants have to pay to play music. Local bands who cover songs are supposed to pay, but they're not usually caught. Should I contact Pete about your cover band? See, you know nothing about copyrights.
