RE: Stern was brutal. Absolutely bra...Al.

Somewhere I hope somebody at Trinifold is taking these all in. When Pete is
exonerated and writes that book and plays shows with or without Roger, there
are going to be a whole lot of media outlets who should get this shoved
right up their asses.

Is anybody in Michigan? You'll want to check this excuse of a radio station
http://wheelz.fm/index.html who has banned The Who. This station's web site
has links to porno sites, with the same stuff that Pete is accused of.
Check it out and e mail the program director or post on their site.

I had the pleasure of hearing that. My day got gloomy real quick.

>A few minutes later a guy called in & drew attention to the lyrics
>of "Rough Boys" (here we go again).
>They played the song.

They played it and pointed out all the naughty stuff.
All exacerbated they would shout "Let me buy you leather?????!!!", and
"I want to bite and kiss you????!!!!"

It was ugly. Pete was getting' it.

>Some on the staff (K.C. & Baba Booey) defend-
>ed the piece as being tongue-in-cheek & anti-homophobic

I was cheering K.C. and wishing I had a way to call in. I was pissed. We
needed someone to get in there and set the record straight.

>but Howard
>still insisted Pete was "creepy" & ended the discussion by saying,
>"The plot thickens."

It got worse. It got much worse.
They then played just one of the "many" covers that people are sending in
of Who songs with spoof lyrics.
The song was Baba O.
At the line "They're all wasted!", the words were changed to "They're all
naked!". It was awe full.

My wife and I decided to take advantage of day-care and go boarding today.
Driving over is when we got to listen.
I was devastated.
I heard over an hour (to day-care and then to resort).

Think what you want about Stern, but keep in mind this is the largest
nationally syndicated program with the highest ratings in the most
powerful time-slot, geared to the kind of public that are fans of music
and of The Who. And, he's stationed in The Who's mecca town, NY.

During the playing of twisted Baba, Stern would say repeatedly the words
that just felt like a dagger in my chest....
"Oh, it's all over."
"Oh he's finished."
"Look at all these songs people have already sent."
Then they all laughed and decided that they better jump on the band wagon
and make up their own spoof Who song.

I looked at my wife and said pretty somberly while shaking my head "this
is brutal".
She replied "it doesn't get any worse than that."

And *I* was afraid of public reaction to a new album????????

This has exceeded my absolute worst nightmare.

Brace yourselves people.
At this very moment the magazine folk are frantically writing their stories.
The written press usually always holds the most clout.
It could be make or break time.

Before I go, I have to ask.........
Who is going to take on Stern?

COUSIN SCHRADE!
I understand you've had a bit of success in getting an odd E-mail here or
there read on Stern.
Care to take a swing?

I would have given money to be able to call in and get through.
I would have turned it all around.

It was all in my head, and it needed to be said.
