Perceptions of Pete
> *Howard Stern* calling Pete creepy. Ha Ha.
Jon,
I think we're all gonna have to get used to Pete being called things
like "creepy."
> For me, it doesn't look BAD for Pete. I think it's another blip
> on the radar screen,
Mark,
This might be more than a blip. In hindsight, the whole "Pete is gay"
thing (not that there's anything wrong with that - I know plenty of
happy people) seems like a blip on the radar.
In contrast, Pete wasn't *arrested* for saying he knew what it felt
like to be a woman.
This new "controversy" is career-damaging stuff. It's Who-fans-possibly-
getting-into-fights-in-bars-with-loudmouthed-drunks kind of stuff.
It's forget-about-the-new-album kind of stuff.
It's charities-questioning-their-association-with-Pete kind of stuff.
It's Pete-not-going-out-in-public kind of stuff.
It's Pete-has-to-have-bodyguards kind of stuff.
It's Pete-may-shut-down-his-website kind of stuff.
It's people-not-really-believing-our-explanations kind of stuff.
It's The-Who-will-become-more-of-a-joke-than-they-already-are kind of
stuff.
But not to fear; in about two hundred years it *will* just look like
a blip on the radar.
