Carlin and the Five Families

Again Lela, hats off to you for your dedication to putting the record
straight. I'm interested in knowing where Bozo fits into the Carlin show.
No, I didn't get his name because we were a bit late and got to our seats
after he began his thing, so I never got it. But I do know that support
comedians for big name comics on tour will vary from time to time. Like
bands, an opening act may open from date to date until the tour ends with the
occasional change, but sometimes it's part of a contract with an auditorium to
have a local comedian open for the big name comic. I don't know where Bozo
fits into this, but it would be interesting to know.

Thank you paisan, for putting the record straight in my absence of reply to
our beloved Sicilian Mother, Jo. Being a loyal and dedicated Caporegime in
the Who Family, she was prepared to go to the mattresses at a moment's notice
in defense of our beloved Consigliori, Mr. Townshend. She is to be respected.
Your quick actions in stilling her hand were paramount in avoiding an all out
war with the Tattaglias and Barzinis who are behind Carlin with all their
people. Nice work. And take the canolis.

That's very cool that your Pop is open minded enough to see both sides and
actually lend some support. Dad's are funny that way, especially those who
had young kids in the 60s and 70s. Being a baby boomer with old time
traditional values having to raise kids in such a changing world, had to be
tough even when trying to do the right things. A good-old friend of mine's
father still thinks Mick Jagger is the Devil and is to blame for all of the
world's woes even today. I'm guessing that your Dad is of that generation
like my Dad is too. It's nice to see your Dad can see both sides. Now, if
you could only talk to my Dad. A wonderful man, but still has the Boomer
naivety. He still thinks Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone!

I heartily agree. Sometimes George gets a little too political, but he's an
equal opportunity ass-ripper when it comes to hypocrisy. I love him for it.
And he's a funny bastard too. Here's another good one I hadn't heard until
last Sunday.

When talking about men's names in recent generations, he said that men with
names like Brad and Brent and Blaine were softer than guys with older, tough
names. "Guys with names like Joe and Tony and Mike would kick the asses of
guys with names like Brad and Brent and Blaine. Funny shit...
