Future Who (was Empty Glass)

Maybe. We don't know for sure. All we have is Daltrey's claim that
they're going into the studio this Fall. And that particular rumor/
rumour has been circulating for about four years.

Granted, Pete gave The Who some attention by touring with the band these
past two tours, but the starvation continues when it comes to songwriting
and The Who. (Sorry - those crummy crumbs on IRON MAN, "Fire" & "Dig,"
don't count.)

F. Led Zeppelin.

Rock's always been popular with young people. Even the Classic Rock
artists. Sure, you have your sub genres like pop & rap, but Classic Rock
radio has ensured that Led Zeppelin will be popular because Led Zeppelin
gets constantly rammed down kids' throats much more so than The Who (at
least that's the case in my area).

Zeppelin's music has been & still is more popular because it appeals to
a wider audience. That audience contains more stupid people. Let's
call them "non-deep thinkers." (I'm not saying *only* "non-deep thinkers"
listen to Zeppelin, & *only* deep-thinking people listen to The Who. I'm
saying that, in the context of a band's stupid to deep-thinking fan ratio -
more "non-deep thinkers" listen to Zeppelin, on average, than listen to
The Who.)

I think I said the same thing two years ago when the rumors were circu-
lating then. Pete says he doesn't write *songs* anymore; he writes "pieces
of music." Daltrey says they're going into the studio. What will happen?

Right now, I gotta believe nothing will happen. Not because I *want*
nothing to happen but because we've been told in the past that something
will happen when it turned out nothing happened, & now some are saying again
that something is going to happen when in reality it seems like nothing is
happening, like before. Talk is cheap. I'll need more proof.
