Egocentrism run amuck! :-)

Damn! You old fart! ;-)

Obviously not the same black arm band worn at Boston I 2002 for John. But, did you partake in the same burning ritual?
This past tour was so surreal.
Seeing you wearing a black arm-band is part of my top memories from this last tour.

These are frustrating times.

Reminds me of a political bumper sticker up here during the last Gov. race....
"Vote Ruth off the island."
Ruth Dwyer was a particularly nasty homophobic racist, who happened to be the Repub. front runner.
She was trounced even by the progressive party.

>Love animals of all sorts.

Even humans? ;-)
I prefer Labs myself.

Damn! You got towels????
Paul!

Ouch! It doesn't have to be that way!

Buzz Lightyear???
Uh Oh. That visual is gonna stick!

>Interesting Hobbies: Hiking, camping, skiiing (I DO live in Colorado),

Are you sure you're not in VT????

>drinking German beer

German Heffe Weiss Bier Rocks! It's all I drink.

>watching the NHL playoffs.

Gimme Redskins football anyday.

Ok.....my turn I guess:

Name and City, State: Kevin - Huntington, Vermont (formerly of Washington DC). I'm a transplant! I traveled south cross land...wait....make that North. I put out the fire and didn't look past my shoulder.

Nickname: "Kervin" (college). "K-dog" by my goofier boarding friends. "Special K" by my wife. :o)

Year and city graduated high school: 1983, Potomac Maryland.

Highest level of education completed: BA, St. Mary's College of Southern Maryland. Majors in Economics and Sociology/Anthropology. Currently slowly working on a Masters degree.

Occupation: Given the above, I have no clue how I got into Healthcare. Well, yes I do. Bush Sr. was in office back in '90 (had just returned from 7 months hiking in Europe), and I had to take what I could get.
My whole family works/worked in healthcare. I work for a network of physicians/providers. In a nut shell I educate Docs and their staff on the business side of their practices. I also consult for hospitals.

Year became a Who fan: I can't pinpoint it either. Around 1979 or so. At first, as a kid, I didn't like The Who. Too hard. Keith's death kind of brought things in focus for me. Tommy was the selling point back in 1980 or so.

First Who show attended and how many: 1982. NOT! I WISH! But NOOOOO, mommy and daddy wouldn't let widdle Kevi go to a concert when he was in the 10th fucking grade! (No, no residual anger there!)
So, 1989. Also NOT! A conscientious choice. I was bartending in The Outerbanks of NC at the time, saving money to go back and finish college. Had I hitched out to Raleigh, I would have lost $2k I made over memorial weekend (Sept.) and not finished school. I was convinced I'd missed my last ever opportunity to see my all time favorite band. I was a mess....by The Sea and The Sand.
So, in 1996 when the gods smiled on me and brought back The Who to play of all things, my favorite album in the world, I saw them 4 times ('96 &'97)!! It was a miracle. I've seen them 12x total now.

What were you doing when you found out about Keith's death?
Getting used to High School. Can't really pinpoint an event. But I realized immediately that history was made, and the overall impact. It attracted me The Who.

John's?
Staring at my answering machine in shock, after a voice mail from Jeff House drove home the reality that the previous message from my prankster friend Jack wasn't a joke afterall.
All I could do was turn, grab a jacket, look at my wife who had heard the messages and was obviously concerned for me, and go hiking in the rain along the ridges behind my house for over 2 hours.

Favorite Who Song? Naked Eye, followed by Young Man Blues (does that count?), with a very high honorable mention for the intro synth part of Baba.

>Favorite Album?: Quadrophenia

No Question. Simply the greatest rock album ever. Still gives me goose-bumps *every* time I listen.

Least Favorite Who Song: Pinball Wizard. HA! Just kidding!
I'd have to agree with Scott, Baby Don't Ya Do It, although the track on WNDelux is a good one. That, and Did You Steal My Money. Blech.

Pete, Keith, Roger, John fan?
>"Honestly, I love them all in their own unique way."
that about sums it up Jo! But I lean toward Pete. We are kindred spirits. No question. And, his words guide me.

Who is the best kisser? ME!

Most raw talent?: Keith had the most natural talent, followed closely by John. Wow, most of the talent of The Who is gone.

Reason for joining the list? Quickly realized that thewho.net/news couldn't keep up with list discussions, etc.

reason for staying? As time gets shorter and shorter, I ask myself more and more. But, I'm a Who nut. My hope for the future keeps me 'tuning in'. I also have many friends here.
Plus, igtc has become one of the strongest lists going. I want to continue to participate in that.

>Biggest complaint on the list:

I really don't have any. Maybe at this point Lurkers coming in out of the blue and trying to dictate how things are to run.
It frustrates me that the people who participate are expected to put their ass on the line, and thus expose themselves to retaliation or humiliation, all for the entertainment of Lurkers.
Hey, I live by the credo "the people who get things done, are the people who show up".

>Lack of Who news.

That would be a good complaint too.
I'm fearing we're witnessing the fading away of The Who.
Hope I'm wrong.

Who you'd like to see voted off next: Ruth Dwyer! Mission Accomplished!

Married, divorced or married with a little action on the side?:
Married, with tons of action on the side! They don't call me K-dog for nothin'!
YeeeeeHawwww! Whooofff, Whooooff, Whoooff!
Yeah....right.

Interesting Hobbies: Well, I think "interesting" is in the eyes of the beholder, but....in the Winter I snowboard and back country ski as much as possible. I've been known to do 'hike and rides' up mountains in the middle of sub-zero blizzards. In the Summer, I mountain bike at a competitive level, hike and play soccer. Soccer and hiking I fear will be taking a backseat this Summer now that I've purchased The SS "Pure And Easy" (no joke), a 27' 1983 Hunter Sailboat (Lake Champlain, incase you're trying to figure it out).
I'm also into music. I've been playing the Cello since age 12 (not as often as I should these days). I actually used to tour with Maryland's Masterworks Orchestra. So I'm not too shabby! I'm now also slowly (VERY SLOWLY) learning to play guitar. Thanks to Joe L., I've got ICE down pat!

CNN, Fox, Nickelodeon or History Channel? Don't forget TLC or ODL! I check them all out, but always check out the evening nightly news on CBS for the perspective that most people are watching.
Ultimately, NPR rules.

VH1 or MTV: Used to be VH-1. Nothing really now.

Favorite Who venue? Don't really have one. I do love seeing a concert in Philly or that area. Very rowdy fans with great Who attitude. Other than that, you have to give a nod to Tweeter in Manchester, MA for the very close proximity of row 1 to stage.

But, enough about me!

Stay in Tune,
Kevin in VT
