Re: All alone in the end zone; Recycle race

but the entity formerly known (sic) as the who is not new any more - just
tours of greatest hits. Can it be bigger than the parts when half of those
very parts are memories?

Scott & Steve:

Well where the HELL were you guys when I was getting trashed for saying these same things? All good things must come to an end. Or, to quote Ray Davies: "Nothing lasts forever..."

rarities (emphasis on EXILE ON MAIN STREET). They were
loud. They were energetic. Better than their last few
tours, Curtis reported.

Scott:

We'll see. They've been running on empty since 1974, and every live and studio album since reflects this. The last few live albums have been downright BORING. Noteperfect, true, but up against Ya-Ya's there's no comparison.

arently Mick & Keith are still able to actually write
rock songs for the band.

A more accurate phrase would be "...still able to recycle rock songs..."

Goodnight, Who. Long live the Rolling Stones. The bat-
tle's over.

Nah, The Stones lost that battle LONG ago! I for one am glad The Who didn't put out Who-type songs (as they did with Saturday Night's Alright), recycled WN stuff. Best thing for Daltrey now might be to do a "tribute" studio album to Pete, with songs like Give Blood and English Boy and all those other PT songs which SHOULD have been Who songs. Then everyone's happy...right?
