Yes, it seems Americans are very resistant when it comes to new rock.
And while the British seem to be much more open in accepting fresh
faces, they seem to get bored with 'em after a couple of years.  My col-
lection of Q magazines has many in-depth articles about now-forgotten 
British bands or artists, once touted as being the current BIG thing - 
which, of course, at the time, they were.

Atleast the Brits give 'em two good years.  We Americans generally
keep the door shut tight; no new music gets in.  Howevere, we do 
seem to be doing a decent job of exporting bands in the well-tested,
mature, intelligent category of Rap/Metal.  We're good at that.  Boy,
isn't that something to be proud of?
