Who in Church

Hello, like some subscribers, I don't post much. As a
matter of fact, I believe I only posted once since I
moved from PA to CA over five years ago. Funny how a
tragedy brings out the need and desire to gather as a
family...

I wanted to share with you something special that
happened to me yesterday. I belong to our churchs
youth group music ministry. Every Saturday we have a
mass dedicated to the teens of our parish. Our music
group is not the typical catholic choir one may be
familiar with. We have a drummer, electric guitars,
etc. Knowing what a big Who fan I am and how much the
band has meant to me during the last 21 years of my
life, the music director (also a classic rock fan)
asked my how I felt about playing the intro to See
Me, Feel Me during our communion meditation as a
tribute to John. I was not so sure about doing this
and had reservations about doing so right up to the
meditation but with his persistence, we pulled it off.
Im not exactly sure how it was received but in the
end, Im glad we did it. It seemed to fit the moment
and what a wonderful way to thank God for giving us
the gift of music through the people who lived in our
lifetime.

Moving forward, my wife and I will be at the bowl on
Monday to share both the grieving and celebration of
some of the best music that graced our planet with
some of the best fans in the world. No doubt you may
see the inevitable Christian with their John 3:16
sign at the concert. On this day, in honor of the
healing thunder, my sign will read John 5:15!

p.s. as I wrote this and watched the Yanks on ESPN,
theyve been playing WGFA after homeruns. Very cool.
