This is a few days old, but I don't think it has been posted.

The Who/.bom 14th June 2002

Tomorrow sees the last day of rehearsals for the upcoming Who tour.We have spent a few hours each day this week perfecting our crafts, fine tuning the "old" additional material that has been selected, breaking in two brand new songs, replacing faulty leads and cracking valves - in laymen's terms: ensuring a healthy big noise for all punters.
New songs and classics aside, I have really enjoyed running down the songs from the remote and distant past - I even played bass on one on Entwistle's tunes that lacked a bit of bottom end due to his 8 string bass part. If you were there you were one of the lucky ones. As that may or may not be the last time any of these gems are likely to be played by the band againWho knows? Well precisely.

On returning home each night I have continued working into the wee hours on my project which is taking shape nicely. For the NYC show, I have Mark Brzezicki and Bruce Foxton with me but in LA and Boston I will be solo so I want to do things a bit differently. Obviously, I will play a varied cross section of my past better known material as usual but will introduce the new .bom segment with a bang using an eclectic mix of sequences, samples, sound effects and electric/acoustic guitars. Believe me, if I could I'd have an orchestra up there with me but this simple honed down approach is an ideal way for me to air the solo material with punch - gonna rock the house man! Andif it goes down well I can see no reason why I don't tour it around the world - if nothing else is totally cost effective. Well, all for now - look out for new samples early next week.
