the war to come

That is sad indeed - but things like nuclear war are not off the table as how
to handle this, according to what I have heard.
Afghanistan has a long history of never being beaten in war. The British
invaded in the 1800's and got clobbered by a bunch of ragged tribesmen. The
Soviets invaded in 1979 - and got clobbered by a bunch of ragged tribesmen
(with CIA support who armed and trained them - including one Osama Bin
Laden!!!!! So nice he repays us with such kindness!). Previous invasions in
history were not successful either. Certain countries cannot be conquered.
So - with that to chew on, how do we fight them? Light infantry insertions
via helicopter or HALO are probably the best - we will need to have people on
the ground to do the job right. Air power and high-technology are very
limited in wars of this nature - though they can help. Are we ready for
American casualties?
As for terrorists and how to kill their cells - they are typically organized
with heads, but you can cut off the heads and the body, more often than not,
still survives. The cells have a leader, but like Special Forces A-Teams,
all members are cross-trained to do the other's jobs in case the leader is
taken out. They expect the leader to be taken out in fact! So basically,
you have to kill the entire cell - and all the other cells that you come
across. There could be hundreds of them when you factor in all the terrorist
groups out there.
It seems that some of the terrorists of Tuesday were "sleepers" - living here
and working here for some time until the call from their cell leader came to
do their jobs against us. That is a VERY hard war to fight and win - and
make no mistake about it - there are others still operating in America that
we have not found yet! In the espionage business "sleepers' are the most
difficult of spies to take out - the same thing for terrorists.
Factor in things like the financial, weapons and training support that Iraq
gives these groups, coupled with the fact that Iraq is Hell-bent to develop
their own tactical nulcear capability (they already have chemical capability,
which they used with chilling effect in the Iran-Iraq War of the 1980's and
against their own Kurds.), and biological capability. They have shown that
they have the will to use such weapons against their enemies!
If terrorist cells ever get these types of weapons, they will get them from
Iraq! Now you understand why it was so terribly wrong NOT to take Hussein
out while we had the people there to do it! The UN be damned!
So what this comes down to - very possibly - is this...the very survival of
our civilization versus these criminals that will use whatever they have and
can get to destroy us! There is a real chance of a small nuclear strike from
them as well as bio-war agents. That has been talked about here for years -
we can only hope they are training to prevent that. If that does happen
though - are we ready as a nation to go to the next level?
They are not religion, for no religion preaches such hate! This is a case of
idiots wrapping themselves in the guise of religion - but that makes them
even more dangerous and they are certainly not afraid to die. It sickens me
when Americans go after the good Muslims of this country - who are now very
afraid to move about without reprisal! They are not what this is about.
Sorry to be such a downer here - but this is what we might well be facing.
This is why this nation and its people has to have balls of steel for the
next few years. Don't ever forget - they think we are the Great Satan! And
they will not stop coming now that they have tasted some success here.
To be very honest, I firmly believe that the first shots of World War 3 have
now been fired (and that has nothing to do with Nostradamus either).
