JEB in CT and NY

A very quick review of the Friday and Saturday JEB shows.

Great set on Friday. The band was having a great time. John was very
animated and sober. Not loud enough, but the show was in the center of a
large casino so they couldn't go too crazy. Nice surprises in the set were
"You" and "Long Live Rock". A pretty decent showing by hardcore fans.
About 30 people hung out in the club afterward and were rewarded with a very
casual 'meet and greet'.

BB's was pretty packed last night. No surprise guests. Extremely loud set
that started quite late (around 11). I was sitting at a table with all
newbies who were shocked at the volume. Fortunately, I warned my dates and
they brought a econmy size bag of ear plugs and handed them out to our
table-mates during MG. The huge surprise was the opening act who was a
blues guitarist from Milwaukee named John Paris. He knows how to use the
slide and the harp. It was great to see the hardcore Who fans getting some
fun blues shoved down their throats. I love that shit! Again, John was
animated and loose. The show was a bit sloppier, but the guys were having
great fun joking between sets and goofing on 'Bada-Bjorn'. John dedicated
"Love is Like a Heart Attack" to Bjorn and his new girlfriend. I don't
think they understood what he was saying, but I enjoyed it.

More later.
