Pete is a visionary who can project trends.  He can feel the important 
issues of our time, and put them into words.  That's why he's so important 
as a musician and a songwriter.

I suspect the process of grappling with the world's problems is painful, so 
he has a tendency to withdraw into himself, and then the songs become very 
personal and about Pete and his life.  But, when he's out on a big tour like 
The Who mounted last year, he absorbs what's going on and can mold it into a 
cohesive statement that we all recognize.

I notice that families have pulled closer together since September 11, and 
parents are much more sober and concerned for the future of their children.  
It is almost like Pete WAS a prophet with his improvs last year on TKAA.  
It's going to be one of the prime issues of the next few years.
