You make it sound like an accident.  It's not a luxury.  It's the product of 
Pete's genius.  If Macca can't do that, it's his own limitations as a 
songwriter that are standing in his way.

Not quite.  Several reviewers commented that the lyrics were inappropriate 
to the situation.  But, because Pete doesn't nail down definite meanings, 
they can be defined differently, and The Who's interpretation carried the 
audience.  It was the feeling behind the material that was important.
