Companies Plan Co-branded Pay-Per-View Event on DIRECTV® in August

El Segundo, CA and New York, Jul 23, 2001 -- Next-generation music company
MCY (MCY.com, Inc., OTC-BB: MCYC) and DIRECTV, Inc., announced today that
MCY has syndicated, for the month of August, the exclusive broadcast rights
to The Who's all-star charity concert to DIRECTV, the nation's leading
digital satellite television service.
This pay per view broadcast of The Who's all-star charity concert will
premiere on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001 at 9:00 p.m. ET for $19.95, and will air
exclusively to DIRECTV customers on viewer channel 101. DIRECTV customers
can also purchase ALL DAY TICKETTM replays of the concert through Labor Day
weekend, which allows a customer to pay just once and watch the concert any
time during the broadcast day, from 6 a.m. (ET) to 5:59 a.m. (ET) the
following morning. This pay per view event is not available on any other
multi-channel service.

MCY and DIRECTV will also cooperate in a number of areas including internal
and external marketing and sales programs, such as print advertisement, Web
site and various promotional magazines.

MCY filmed the legendary rockers in performance at London's Royal Albert
Hall on Nov. 27, 2000 during a one-night-only concert to benefit the U.K.'s
Teenage Cancer Trust. The three-and-a-half hour concert featured a two-hour
performance by The Who, who were then joined on stage by a powerhouse lineup
of special guests performing songs of The Who.

Stand-out moments included performances with Bryan Adams ("Behind Blue
Eyes,"); violin virtuoso Kennedy ("Baba O'Riley"); Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder
("I'm One," "Getting In Tune" and "Let's See Action"); Oasis' Noel Gallagher
("Won't Get Fooled Again"); Style Council's Paul Weller ("So Sad About Us"
with Pete Townshend); Stereophonic's Kelly Jones ("Substitute"); and a
finale of "My Generation," "See Me Feel Me/Listening To You" performed by
The Who with Eddie Vedder, Bryan Adams and teenagers representing the
Teenage Cancer Trust.

"The Who revolutionized rock music almost 40 years ago," said Bernhard
Fritsch, chairman and chief executive officer of MCY. "Working with them on
this concert was a great experience and the band raised a great deal of
money for the United Kingdom's Teenage Cancer Trust. MCY found a great
syndication partner in DIRECTV, and we are thrilled that their 10 million
subscribers will also have the opportunity to watch this once-in-a lifetime
show."

"DIRECTV is committed to providing our 10 million customers with the best
lineup of music entertainment programming available," said Michael Thornton,
senior vice president of Programming Acquisitions, DIRECTV, Inc. "DIRECTV is
proud to be partnering with MCY on this event and to bring the great sounds
of The Who, as well as a number of other performers, exclusively to DIRECTV
customers nationwide."

With DIRECTV® programming, customers can receive hundreds of
digitally-delivered channels of programming, including access to more than
225 popular channels, as many as 55 pay per view choices a day, a wide
variety of professional and collegiate sports subscriptions, special events
and 31 commercial-free audio channels.
