RE: who vs beatles

Okay here's a what if about comparing these two groups:

Imagine The Beatles with Brian Epstein as their producer instead of George
Martin. Now imagine no unlimited access to EMI to tinker around with new
sounds but rather trying to grab studio time for a few hours every other
week wherever they happened to be. Would you have even heard of The Beatles
after 1966? I doubt it.

That's the way The Who had to record. It's a wonder they ever came out with
a decent record.
