I do know what you mean.  I've gotten a chance to watch a couple of the 
videos from last summer, and the bass solo does slow the momentum of the 
show.  There's a little drop in the energy right there when the tape is 
playing.

But I'm not going to say anything against it.  It was a terrific display of 
John's technique--a rare, unprecedented opportunity for John fans to see him 
work solo.  And when I was there, it was the most exciting moment of the 
show.
