West Palm/Tampa thoughts

Tickets and merch costs makes one feel like we're at Tommy's Holiday
Camp......

Once past that....

Great selection of merch. limited edition Live At Leeds poster sells for
$35. Printed 1000, numbered, signed by the four(as part of the copy).
Tshirts are $30. Some Entwhistle discs and poster.

Set list is pretty much the same as first legs of tour. Who's Next heavy.
Pete playing his own parts on Fender Stratocasers(red, gold, white). Roger's
voice is strong and shows a lot of feeling to try and hit long, high notes.
Strict music critics hate it, Who fans see that he is pouring it all out on
the stage and appreciate it. Plays acoustic and harmonica at times.
Entwistle was good in West Palm but stellar in Tampa. Longer rhythm section
solo with Starkey in Tampa. Art exhibit is interesting, buy something, get
picture taken with him. Free exhibit, ought to at least stop by. Starkey's
style is more open during this tour(as opposed to
Quadrophenia...understably). Nice Moon rolls and style when called
for...nice improv and Starkey style when possible. Watching Starkey was as
enjoyable as the rest.

Started around 8:45 in West Palm, 8:30 in Tampa. Ended at 11PM. Sound and
play was a little loose in West Palm amphitheatre(hot and humid). Ice Palace
in Tampa sound was sharper. They seemed a beat off through portions of Tampa
show. Maybe part auto-pilot, part improv. Great to see classics played with
small windows of improv thrown in. Extra nice to hear non top 40 hits
through portions of the show.

We'll see how Atlanta is tonight...nice to be home.
