WHO-RAY!

THE WHO were joined onstage by NOEL GALLAGHER, PAUL WELLER, EDDIE VEDDER, KELLY
JONES, BRYAN ADAMS and NIGEL KENNEDY last night (November 27), at a mammoth
three-hour charity show at the LONDON ROYAL ALBERT HALL in aid of the TEENAGE
CANCER TRUST.

The performance, which marked the final date on a comprehensive tour for The
Who, was split into two halves. The first half was a 'traditional' Who concert,
the band showcasing versions of their classic material, including 'I Can't
Explain' and 'Pinball Wizard', while the second half featured the numerous guest
slots.

Speaking at the event, guitarist Pete Townshend said: "For this tour, this is
the last show we intend to do and it's great to end it in this way."

Following the interval, Townshend played solo acoustic versions of 'Drowned' and
'Heart To Hang Onto', before introducing "Mr Paul Weller", dressed in bright
yellow sweater and jeans for an acoustic version of 'So Sad About Us'. In the
song, Weller sang the main vocals on the verses, leaving Townshend to provide
vocal harmonies.

Weller was then replaced by Pearl Jam vocalist Eddie Vedder for a stunning
version of 'I'm One', with Vedder fronting the band, with usual vocalist Roger
Daltrey in the wings. Introducing Vedder, Townshend said: "He's come all the way
from Hawaii, come 9,000 miles to see us. He's a great friend of mine, my family,
this band. He's the lead singer of Pearl Jam - Eddie Vedder."

Vedder then performed backing vocals on 'Getting In Tune', before reappearing
for an encore of 'Let's See Action' and 'My Generation'.

Noel Gallagher, wearing all denim, played lead guitar on 'Won't Get Fooled
Again', while Canadian starBryan Adams sang vocals on 'Behind Blue Eyes'.

For the encore, Stereophonics mainman Kelly Jones sang lead vocals on The Who
track 'Substitute'.

During the interval, the founders of the Teenage Cancer Trust were presented
with a cheque for £1 million raised as a result of the work done by The Who in
aid of the charity. Comedian Phill Jupitus also made a brief appearance - but
was persistently heckled and booed.
