This an excellent review, and quite thoughtful. The undercurrent that
runs through it is that this is a young guy who went there without
expecting to much like what he heard, and who came away impressed.
Plus he's able to put the reasons why into words.

I agreed with Marc at first that he was off base with the remark about
the albums not standing the test of time, but after thinking a while I
do know what he's talking about. Many of The Who's albums (like any
other rock 'n' roll band) can be pegged as to time period. The sound
is out of date, and regardless of the content, TED don't even perform
them that same way any longer. There are two or three that CAN'T be
pinned down, though. They were so far out of the mainstream at the
time that you can't place them, and a hundred years from now they're
likely to sound that same way. That's more of an impressive
accomplishment than the reviewer knows. He's to young to realize how
out of date Creed or Limp Bizkit is going to sound in thirty or forty
years.

As usual, he sees Pete and not the unit that supports the magic, but
that's a standard problem. It takes a little more investigation to
understand the alchemy.
