Critics really do not have an effect when I go an pick
up an album or go see a show. I went to see Bob Dylan
a year ago and the critics here nailed him because
they thought he was too old to step onto a stage and I
went anyway because I never saw him live. He turned
out to be great and stayed on stage longer than half
the younger bands out there. Does criticism decrease
a fan's enjoyment? I don't think it would. You'd
love it or hate it whether you read the two cents of a
critic or not. Sometimes for me the opposite happens.
Critics will pan something and I'll end up liking it
even more.
