Golden Earring/'82 Bus vs. '99 Bus/2 guitars on BBE?

I've also read/heared in more than one place that the Who invited Golden 
Earrings drummer to join after Keith Moon died.

Although I like the '99 version better, it seems to have relations to the 
WHO'S LAST version, which is why I didn't understand one review in Rolling 
Stone of the '99 shows that criticized the "beat" the band used on "Magic 
Bus" as trying to sound modern, when in fact it's close to the '82 version.

Also, on my 3rd BTTB listening...where does the electric guitar come from 
near the end of the loud section on BBE?  Pete's on acoustic, Daltrey ain't 
playing....must have been one of the touch ups.
