Re: Blues to the Bush and StoryTellers and Stuff

Patience was rewarded on Friday when my copy of Blues to the Bush arrived -
just in time to keep me company during a long drive. The music is nothing
short of amazing - the band is in top form and it is great to hear "Gettin
in Tune," "Pure and Easy," "After the Fire," and "I'm a Boy" in a live
setting. And "5.15..." yeeeow! Then we heard the THUNDER! JAE rips on
this version. Finally, a live Who album that captures them in all of their
powerful glory! Best since "Leeds." "My Generation" is ALMOST as hot as
the LAL version! Is is just me, or does intro to "Magic Bus" sound like
"English Boy?" Just for a few seconds, it sounds like it could melt into
"English Boy," but I could be hearing things.

Complaints? Minor ones. The liner notes aren't 100% correct. It was
stated that "The Kids are Alright" hasn't been played since 1996, when it
was played during the "Quadrophenia" tour in 1997. It also states that
"After the Fire" was written for RD's "Under a Raging Moon," when in fact,
it was written for Live Aid (but never played). The packaging? I have seen
better covers on bootlegs, but we buy it for the music, right? I could also
do without the song separation. And who mixed Entwistle? He needed to be
turned up.
