Townshend Tapes VH1 Storytellers Show

VH1 last week taped a commemorative edition of its "Storytellers" series
-- the first to be shot in London -- with Pete Townshend and his band.
Series producer Bill Flanagan says the segment will air in May as part
of a five-show celebratory week, featuring performances by Crosby,
Stills, Nash, & Young, Steely Dan, Don Henley, and Stone Temple Pilots.
Townshend's gig at Porchester Hall, West London, featured material from
his six-CD set "Lifehouse Chronicles," including versions of classic Who
songs "Join Together," "Behind Blue Eyes," "Won't Get Fooled Again," and
"Song Is Over," the latter somewhat of a rarity in Townshend's solo
performances.
The VH1 screening will tie in with a condensed single album, "Lifehouse
Elements," due May 23 from Redline Entertainment through RED. The full
"Lifehouse" set is available exclusively at Best Buy and Townshend's Web
site www.eelpie.com.
In other Townshend news, Atlantic will reissue his 1982 solo album "All
The Best Cowboys Have Chinese Eyes" on April 11.
