Best movie
For soccer (aka football) fans, here's news of the BEST movie
(featuring Roger as Rodney Marsh) courtesy of a George Best fansite. I
hadn't heard that Best was ill, but maybe it's been in the UK papers.

Waterfront Hall to honour hero Best:
By Claire McGahan
ULSTER'S army of George Best fans were
today urged to show the troubled soccer
genius just how proud they are of him.
This May Day Bank holiday is being turned
into George Best Day as fans get set to flock
to the Waterfront Hall in Belfast for the
premier of 'Best', the movie about the football
legend's life.
Despite his current illness, it is still
expected
that George Best will be at the event - and
today the call went out for his fans to dig
deep and come up with as much memorabilia
about his footballing career as they can to
take pride of place in a display at the
Waterfront on May 1.
Organisers NICVA and Cinemagic want to
borrow programmes, photos, autographed
kits and balls, articles and anything else that
conjures up Best's legend - from the early
days through to the glory days at
Manchester United.
Frances McCandless of NICVA said that
since news of Best's illness broke, there has
been huge concern, with people ringing to
ask if the star would be at the premiere.
"This exhibition will give people a chance to
get involved and really make the day
something special by showing George Best
that Northern Ireland is proud of him.
"We're asking all football fans to root through
their closets and get in touch if they find
anything we could use for the exhibition.
"This May Day Bank Holiday will be a day to
remember for all George Best fans.
"Not only do we have two premiere showings
of the new film, a pro-celebrity football match
and an aftershow 70s theme party, but we're
putting together this exhibition that will take
people back to the highlights of Best's
career.
"We're hoping people will lend programmes,
photos, autographed kits and balls, articles -
and anything else that conjures up the
legend of George Best."Famous faces from
the world of sport and film are expected in
Belfast for the May 1 premiere of 'Best' which
stars John Lynch as Best, and Patsy Kensit
as his ex-wife, Angie.
Anyone who would like to lend items for the
exhibition can contact Frances McCandless
or Teresa Flanagan at NICVA on 028 9032
1224.
